A2 Road scheme publication

Latest publication from Oxford Archaeology “A Road through the past: Archaeological discoveries on the A2 Pepperhill to Cobham road-scheme in Kent”.

As a contributor I have a copy and what a doorstop of a publication it is! I am very impressed with the graphics, superb and professional. Having seen other publications recently, I think this one is miles ahead in its standard. Of course I may be biased, as I dug on the site whilst expecting my first baby, so my memories are somewhat rose tinted. But what archaeology, we had some amazing stuff, the cremation burials with the treasure are fantastic and I’ll never forget going to see them being dug (then known as ‘pit of doom’). Of course site ‘L’ is dear to my own heart as I dug on that one alongside my partner Steve Leech. I then had the pleasure of analysing the skeletons found there for the post-ex. Fond memories, lots of stories, but the best part was finishing and never having to dig/stay in North Kent again!
